John Lloyd resigns from New Statesman.
The British Left, like the American Left, has been divided over the war in Iraq. John Lloyd has resigned his position of columnist with the antiwar New Statesman (*) over the issue. The Guardian excerpts his resignation letter, an excellent, principled statement. (†)
Apparently, John Pilger (‡) has made a statement opposing Lloyd’s, but that one is only available for a fee.
